Aluminium – A New Strategic Development Path for PGO

A Historic Transaction for PGO
The company, previously known primarily for its expertise in metal forming in steel and cast iron, is now significantly expanding its production capabilities into aluminium through the acquisition of a majority stake in SPINKO Sp. z o.o.

“The acquisition of the Spinko Group marks an extremely important moment for us. By entering the aluminium segment, we are enhancing our production potential. This strategic and well-considered decision, based on thorough analyses, aligns with PGO’s core business objective of pursuing diversification and complementarity — both in terms of products and sales. We aim to combine the strong capabilities of both companies and generate synergies at every level of PGO Group’s operations.”
Łukasz Petrus, CEO of PGO S.A.

Aluminium – A Lightweight and Durable Material of the Future

The acquisition process took nearly two years. Initial contacts and business relations between the companies were established back in 2023. Early the following year, the transaction process was launched — including the negotiation of terms, the development of a joint strategy, identification of synergies, and the completion of all necessary regulatory approvals, which took another 12 months. The transaction was finalized in 2025.

“Embracing lightweight and durable materials such as aluminium meets the expectations of our current and future clients, both on the Polish and international markets. We anticipate that by 2030 at the latest, aluminium will account for 30% of the PGO Group’s production and will become a new strategic development direction.”
Andrzej Bulanowski, Vice President of Sales, PGO S.A.

PGO x SPINKO – Polish Companies with a Rich Heritage

SPINKO is a Polish company with over 75 years of industrial tradition. It operates in the market of aluminium die-casting, serving industries such as automotive, street and industrial lighting, as well as window and door hardware. The company has strong expertise in mechanical machining.

PGO, whose roots date back to 1883, is a Polish company providing innovative solutions based on castings and forgings for sectors such as rail, energy, machinery and equipment, agriculture, heavy vehicles, and the defence industry.

Following the acquisition of SPINKO, the PGO Group now operates five production facilities located in Gorlice, Śrem, Piotrków Trybunalski, as well as Leszno and Zielona Góra. PGO S.A. is owned by TDJ, a family investment company with a portfolio of over 20 businesses across various industries.

“We want to grow in every dimension: business performance, technological capabilities, product range, geographic reach, and customer base. The Spinko acquisition is not the end of our development plans - it's another milestone in the ambitious growth path we have set for PGO in the coming years.”
Łukasz Petrus, CEO of PGO S.A.
